The hot news is that Simbu has been approached to reprise Imran Khan’s role in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood comedy-farce — Aamir Khan’s Delhi Belly.
Director Kannan who gave hits like Jeyam Kondaan, Kandaen Kadhalai will be directing the Tamil remake of the Delhi Belly. A source says, 'Kannan is currently in Puducherry, discussing the script for Delhi Belly. John Mahendran, who earlier directed Sachien, is penning the dialogues for the Tamil remake and the cast of the film will be decided soon.'
The Bollywood flick came under the scanner for extensive use of cuss words and there was even a protest against its screening in theatres.
Director Kannan — in all probability, will be wielding the megaphone. Dhananjeyan, who heads the south operations of UTV, was contacted by DC and the producer, who has just finalised tying up with Sundar C. for his film Masala Café, did confirm that plans were on to remake Delhi Belly in Tamil.
“We are talking to a few top actors in Tamil and Telugu. Once we finalise the cast and crew, the movie will go on floors in January next year.”
Delhi Belly was a kind of revolution in Hindi cinema — the film’s running time is just 90 minutes and without any interval.
