Hansika Motwani is celebrating her birthday today (9 August). The bubbly beauty turns 20.

Hansika was born on 9 August 1991 to Pradeep Motwani and Seema Motwani in Mumbai. She has worked in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films.

She began her acting career as a child artist in TV serials and then in the Bollywood film ‘Koi Mil Gaya’.

Her first film in a lead role was Puri Jagannath directed Telugu film ‘Desamuduru’. The film went to be a big hit and established her as prominent star in Telugu Cinema. Later on, she acted in Kantri, Maska, Billa, Jayeebhava and Seetharamula Kalyanam, all of which were average performers.

She is now making a strategic move to make a comeback to Tollywood with lead roles in two big-ticket films. Her latest film ‘Kandireega’ with Ram is set to hit the marquee this month. The other film ‘Oh My Friend’ with Siddharth will be completed by year-end.

The actress has also established her presence in Tamil Cinema with two big hits this year. She has two more films - one with Vijay and the other with Stalin (Karunanidhi's grandson) ready for release.

Hansika celebrated her birthday on the sets of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi today. The actress, who has turned 20 years today, said that she was super excited when director Rajesh and her co-star Udayanidhi Stalin arranged a birthday cake for her.

We wish the young star a very happy birthday and several smash hits from her. Apart from OK OK, she has a couple of Telugu films and a Bollywood flick that would require her attention for the year ahead.
